The Spore Patch Ltd is not a conventional publisher. It is the company arm of a single, long-term intention: to create original mythology that does not merely borrow from nature, but actively gives back to it. The oracle, the journal, the guidebook, the cards, and everything that follows are vessels for that intention.
The ultimate aim is to purchase and protect woodlands, wetlands, scrubland, marshland and other threatened habitats — and eventually to establish a charitable foundation whose sole purpose is that preservation. Once the foundation is established, the company intends to pledge 50% of all profits to its work.
Until that threshold is reached, giving is not postponed. The first 10% of yearly profits is already set aside for charitable causes, nominated and reviewed with the Spiral Circle.

Margins matter, but they are not the first measure. Every decision is weighed against whether it honours the mythology, the community, and the living systems the work celebrates.
Transparency
The pledge is a line item, not a slogan. As the company matures, we will publish how the giving is calculated and where it goes, so the Spiral Circle can hold us to it.

Physical decks, prints and special editions become the premium tier — produced carefully, sold transparently, with their impact traced to the pledge.

When the business is strong enough, establish a charitable foundation with a single purpose: to purchase and protect land. Pledge 50% of profits to its work.
Governance intent
The Spore Patch Ltd is a UK limited company (company no. 17315874). The founder currently holds the director role, but the mission is designed to outlive any single person. As the company grows, governance will be formalised so that the land preservation purpose and the profit pledge remain binding, not optional. This includes clear documentation of the pledge, independent review of charitable distributions, and a succession plan for the foundation’s eventual launch.
