Refunds & Cancellations

A plain-English summary of when a refund applies, how to cancel, and what to do if something has gone wrong.

Summary

  • Digital downloads (Journal PDF, Guidebook PDF, Bundle): final at the point of download; refund at our discretion if the file failed to deliver.
  • Spiral Circle membership: cancel any time; keep access to the end of the paid period; no partial-period refunds.
  • Gift codes: non-refundable once issued; no cash value; do not expire.
  • Physical goods (when available): 14-day right of return under UK distance-selling rules.

Digital downloads (PDFs and bundles)

Under the UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, the standard 14-day right to cancel a distance purchase does not apply to digital content once supply has begun, provided you have expressly consented and acknowledged that your cancellation right will be lost.

At checkout you tick a box confirming both of those things. Once payment completes and the download link is issued, all digital sales are therefore final.

Exceptions we always honour:

  • The download link never worked, and we cannot restore it within a reasonable time.
  • The file is materially different from what was described on the product page.
  • You were double-charged for the same order.

Email hello@thesporeoracle.world within 30 days of purchase and we will replace the file or refund the payment at our discretion.

Spiral Circle membership

The Spiral Circle is a recurring subscription (£5/month or £50/year) billed via Stripe.

  • Cancel from your billing portal in your account, or by emailing us — we will process the cancellation within 2 working days.
  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. You retain access until the end of the current billing period.
  • We do not refund partial or unused periods once a billing cycle has started.
  • If you were charged after cancelling, or the platform was unavailable for an extended period, contact us for a goodwill refund.

Gift subscriptions

Gift codes for 3, 6 or 12 months of membership are one-off purchases and do not auto-renew. Once a code has been issued it is non-refundable and has no cash value. Unredeemed codes remain valid indefinitely and can be transferred by simply sharing the code.

Physical goods

The deck, prints and bookmarks listed as "Coming soon" are not yet available. Once they are, physical goods will carry the standard 14-day right of return under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013:

  • You may notify us of cancellation within 14 days of receiving the item.
  • You then have a further 14 days to return the item in resalable condition.
  • We refund the original purchase price and standard outbound shipping within 14 days of receiving the returned item.
  • You are responsible for the cost of return shipping unless the item was faulty or misdescribed.

Faulty, misdescribed or damaged items

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 always apply. If a product (digital or physical) is faulty, not as described, or unfit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund regardless of the categories above. Contact us and we will make it right.

How to request a refund

Email hello@thesporeoracle.world with the subject line "Refund", the email address you used to purchase, and a short description of the issue. We acknowledge every request within 3 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe. Depending on your bank it may take a further 5–10 working days to appear.

Complaints and dispute resolution

If we cannot resolve a refund request between us, see the complaints and alternative dispute resolution clause in our Terms of Use for your options, including the Citizens Advice consumer service and the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
